The letters after your therapist’s name indicate their level of education (i.e. MA, Ph.D, Psy.D), licenses (i.e. LPC, LMFT, etc) and other certifications (i.e. BC-TMH, NCC) Here are some common licenses and certifications.

LPC = Licensed Professional Counselor
LPC-S = Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor
LCPC = Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
LMFT = Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
LMHW = Licensed Mental Health Worker
LCSW = Licensed Clinical Social Worker
LCAT = Licensed Creative Arts Therapist
LMHC = Licensed Mental Health Counselor
LPCC = Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
Psy.D/Ph.D = Doctoral level clinicians

DCC = Distance Credentialed Counselor
